Apparently, I have swap fever these days. I see a swap going on in one of my Ravelry groups, and I start just itching to join up!
Fortunately though, I've been able to keep my head about me, and not join them all. I participated in the first prayer sock swap in the Christian Knitters & Crocheters Group, but passed on the second one. When I make socks for a swap, I generally try to buy a pretty nice yarn, and it can end up being fairly pricey to join. I also passed on an sewing swap in my Sew Addicted group. I'm working nearly full-time this summer, and just don't have a lot of time!
But it all worked out, because soon after I passed on the prayer sock swap, the same group started a prayer dishcloth swap! Much less of a money commitment, and something very practical. I can always use more hand-made dishcloths! Plus, I can knit while my class is napping, so there is definitely time for me to knit nice little, portable projects this summer!
We're each making at least 2 cloths to send to our partner, and I've already got one done (mostly knit during naptimes)! That's one thing I love about making dishcloths: they go super fast! Plus, this is a great opportunity to try new patterns and techniques without a big time/effort/money commitment. So fun.

This is the Knitted Lacy Round Dishcloth, by Rhonda White. What a fun pattern! I thoroughly enjoyed knitting this. It is great short-row practice, and just generally a quick, addicting knit. For the next one, I'm planning to make the Garterlac Dishcloth, using a turquoise-shaded yarn. I can't wait to see how it knits up!
