I'm a part of the Bag-A-Licious Group on Ravelry . We have quarterly bag swaps, and this is the first one I've been a part of. Success!
Apparently, this is Sarah's first venture into felting, and think it's wonderful! She used Ashford's Tekapo, which is a NZ wool. This is a buttonhole-style bag, and I can't wait to use it!
Sarah also included 2 skeins of Paton's Zhivago, a skein of Treliske organic merino, 2 cloth flowers, a knitted flower and the pattern to make more, 3 little clothespin magnets, and postcards showing scenic New Zealand.
What a haul! Thanks so much, Sarah!
For my part in this swap, I'm sewing a bag for a Raveler in California. I decided to use this opportunity to experiment in crazy quilting felt scraps. I've wanted to try this for a while, and this was the time.
I've been using old felted sweaters to make little bags and such for my Etsy store for a while, and have a lot of scraps. So I looked through my stash, chose a 3 or 4 prints that had similar color schemes, and some coordinating solids. I don't want to post any details of exactly what I did, until my partner has received the bag. Which isn't quite done yet. Which will probably be sent out in a week or so.
But watch here for more details. I had to "wing it," because I couldn't find any info on crazy quilting felted wool fabric, so I might even write up a tutorial at some point!

Yay, I'm so glad it arrived safely! :-)
Your ideas for your bag sound great; I wish I could find some felt-worthy jerseys around here to creative with, but I think NZers wear their woollens to death or something!
